Welcome to Motor City Car

Your number one resource for American vehicles
T
he mission here at MotorCityCar.com is to offer you the most detailed information available online related to American cars. Being a Detroiter who loves cars, it’s easy for me to be passionate about this subject. The hope is that this site will in someway help to reignite the passion American’s used to feel about vehicles produced in the Motor City. There are many who still feel that way around southeast Michigan as demonstrated by the number of car shows here.
As you can see, the site is a work in progress that is being constantly updated. I’ve attended several events over the summer and snapped a ton of photos at The Woodward Dream Cruise, EyesOn Design, and the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance, I also posted some photos from Kid Rock’s Concert at Comerica Park (just for fun). I haven’t had the time to properly rename and tag all the photos…eventually it will get done.
In terms of the cars database, I’ve started working on Ford muscle cars from the 1960s through early 1970s. These cars hold a special place in my heart, my father worked for Ford for thirty years and I myself have a Mustang (thanks Z-plan!). Eventually, the database will be expanded to include the Big 3 plus AMC as well as other decades.
Unfortunately, I am doing this as a part-time project so with the craziness of life, sometimes it takes a back seat. It is my hope that I can completely populate the database of 1964-1973 by summer of 2010. Eventually, I will setup the forums and add additional functionality throughout the site.
When I originally had the idea for this site, I couldn’t have fathomed how much work it would be. Please enjoy the content that has been posted so far. Feel free to leave comments!
Sincerely,
Matt Turner
